Ribble Valley's most famous landmark - Clitheroe Castle - turned blue in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak.

The Grade II listed historic castle was lit up blue last Thursday as a sign of Ribble Valley Borough Council's support for NHS staff and its volunteers on the front line during the current emergency.

Announcing the tribute via social media, a council spokesman posted on Facebook: "We are lighting Clitheroe Castle blue as a thank you to all NHS staff, Care Workers, Council staff and all other Key Workers carrying out essential duties in responding to the #Covid19 Pandemic #CouncilsCan "
