Bridge club’s boost for Cancer Research
There was a superb response from more than 100 people and a record sum of £1,500 was raised.
Maureen Ashton, a club member, wanted to organise this event in memory of a friend who lost her life to breast cancer three years ago.

Hide AdTypical of the support received, miore than 50 raffle prizes were donated by generous club members and friends.
A club spokesm an said: “A home made produce stall, afternoon tea and the game of bridge all helped to make this a wonderful afternoon for all.
“Maureen was overwhelmed by the amount raised and the generosity of so many people.”
