Nelson man charged with rape of woman

Detectives investigating the serious sexual assault of a woman in Colne have charged a man.

An investigation was launched after a woman reported she was sexually assaulted by a man who had got into her house on Talbot Street around 4-15am on Sunday, October 9th.

Officers last night charged Zsolt Suhaj (25) of Barkerhouse Road, Nelson, with rape. He has been remanded to appear at Preston Magistrates' Court this morning.

Police thanked everyone who came forward and helped with appeals for information.
